21 October 2017: Great South Run Juniors (9-15years)

Every year 2,500 young runners warm up the streets of Southsea when they take on the biggest and most popular children’s running event in the South. Budding athletes, school friends and families can take part in 1.5km and 2.5km courses, for ages 3-8 and 9-15 years respectively.

All Junior and Mini runners will receive their very own running t-shirt, a goodie-filled finisher’s pack and that all-important medal.

This page is for the Junior runners (aged 9-15 years) - 2.5km course.

Please contact the office on 023 8120 8881 or charity@uhs.nhs.uk to register your interest. Please note that we only have a limited 15 places for this race, for children running specifically for our Paediatric Rheumatology fund (for specialist nurse Sarah Hartfree).

Registration fee: £10 per entry

Minimum sponsorship: £50

In 2015, 43 children took part in the junior and mini Great South Run for Southampton Hospital Charity to raise awareness for children with rheumatolohy problems, and raised £2,179.25.

Great Junior Run

Do you have children? Get them fit, active and having fun with thousands of others next year at The Mini and Junior Mile Races at the Great South Run.

These are for all children to take part in whether fast, slow, small, or tall!

The Great Junior Run events are some of the most crowd-pleasing activities to watch in the Great Run calendar and are a great way to get the younger generation interested in running.

Each child can have an adult to accompany them throughout the course to give them a helping hand, so it’s a great day for the whole family.

Please contact the office on 023 8120 8881 or charity@uhs.nhs.uk to register your interest.
