Crafty school children donate to Southampton Hospital patients
School children of all ages from Cantell school, Southampton, rose to the challenge to bring in craft supplies to help the children in Southampton General Hospital.
Fiona Delement, Play Specialist said: “The school called me and asked what they could do for the children. We use lots of craft supplies as these are given out to the children individually and also used for group craft activities. This is why we specifically requested craft supplies of all varieties as they could be put to good use within the children’s wards.”
Ryan Lambert from Cantell school continued: “Someone came up with the idea to get the whole school involved in a donation to the hospital. The children were fantastic and we had so many donations from both the pupils and staff. Some of the children even held their own fundraising activities so they could put the money towards even more items for the hospital.”
“The response was amazing and we filled over 10 boxes with supplies. This really brought the school together for such a worthy cause and will be something we will build on and do again later this year.”
