Twyford School donates to the Children’s Hospital
Twyford School Pre-Prep were delighted to hand over a massive donation of children’s toys for the Southampton Children’s Hospital.
The school were thrilled to welcome Judith Stephens, Events and Community Fundraiser for Southampton Hospital Charity to the school. She comments:
“The toys had been collected since before Christmas to support the ward which has been looking after one of the Pre-Prep children with brilliant care from our nursing staff.
Toys have to be frequently replaced because of the risk of germs and infection. They are used in all areas of the hospital not only to entertain the children, but also to help in their care and rehabilitation. So many toys were collected that my car was full to bursting as I drove away! Our thanks to the school for the donation.”
The Pre-Prep school council also decided to hold a Toy Sale of used toys to raise some additional funds. A cheque for £268.45 was presented for the Children’s Neurological Ward.
