Write your will month success
We want to say a massive thank you to all of the solicitors who took part in our write your will month in September. You have helped us to raise over £5,000 by offering your services for free in exchange for a charitable donation to us to write or update current wills.
Jacqui Cammish, legacy and in memory fundraiser comments: “Your will lets you decide what happens to your money, property and possessions after your death. Once you have looked after your family and friends, you might also like to consider leaving a gift to your local hospital. Just 1% of the residue of your estate will make a huge difference, so thank you.”
This is an annual event that the charity holds every September. For more information about writing your will and how to include Southampton Hospital Charity (and choose a ward/department close to your heart), please contact Jacqui Cammish on 023 8120 5497 or Jacqui.email@example.com.
As well as supporting our annual Write Your Will Month, a big thank-you goes out to Kiteleys Solicitors who held an informative session for staff at UHS about the importance of having an up-to-date will. Did you know that two thirds of the population in the UK do not have a will? Want to find out more? Please visit http://www.southamptonhospitalcharity.org/leaving-a-gift-in-your-will
Your will should set out:
- who you want to benefit from your will
- who should look after any children under 18
- who is going to sort out your estate and carry out your wishes after your death (your executor)
- what happens if the people you want to benefit die before you
