Hospital charity team celebrates football success
Football team Southampton Hospital Charity XI came out 3-2 winners over rivals Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital at Hampshire FA’s HQ Winklebury Way earlier this month.
The first competitive match between the teams, which saw striker Fraser Marshall hit a hat-trick, raised funds for both Southampton Hospital Charity and the Ark Cancer Centre Charity.
Players included doctors, pharmacists, porters and administrative staff from across University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
Matt Beedle, who managed the Southampton side, said: “It was great to bring staff from across the organisation together for this event and raise some money for two great charities.
“We hope to stage more matches in the coming months to continue raising money for charity – but we’ll also be looking to keep our 100% win record intact!”
