NCS group donates to children’s hospital
Southampton Hospital would like to thank one of the National Citizen Service (NCS) groups in the south for their hard work.
The group raised a staggering £1,002.71 for the Paediatric Medical Unit in Southampton’s Children’s Hospital.
The students all cycled the equivalent of a marathon (26.2 miles), and then completed half a marathon walk.
Suzie Simmons, fundraising manager, said: “Thank you so much for the donations. The ward staff were thrilled to see all of the toys and donations for the children. These ranged from colouring equipment, to tablets and speakers for the children to listen to music, there was such a variety.
You could really see how close the NCS group had become by doing the cycling and walking challenge together as a team. Thank you.”
