London to Paris challenge for paediatric nurse
In early September, staff nurse Laura Windle, from Winchester will be taking on a cycling challenge of a lifetime.
Laura comments: “I have been a paediatric nurse for five and half years, and currently work in the Emergency Department and Paediatric Assessment Unit at Southampton General Hospital.
To show my appreciation for where I work, I have signed up to cycle the 300 miles from London to Paris in aid of Southampton Hospital Charity.
Every day I see how the staff and hospital work hard to save and improve the lives of the children in hospital.
Southampton General Hospital is not just a regional hospital. It is the 12th largest hospitals in the UK, and provides specialist care for children on the South coast and Channel Islands. I will be fundraising to help bring together the paediatric Emergency Department and Assessment Unit, bringing two areas and two teams together to enhance paediatric care.
Donations will help improve paediatric care, treatment and the whole experience for child and family within this dedicated children’s hospital.
I am very passionate about paediatric nursing and providing the best care, treatment and support for all families who are seen.”
