Eggcellent Easter donations by hospital star
Heather Parsons has recently been in the local headlines for stepping up to the People’s Choice Strictly Come Dancing extravaganza.
Now she is continuing to support Southampton Hospital Charity by waltzing and dancing around the elderly care wards and children’s wards to hand out Easter eggs in her fabulous Strictly dress.
Suzie Simmons, fundraising manager comments; “We can’t wait for Heather to come to Southampton General Hospital on Good Friday. The festive holidays are always a hard time to be in hospital, so having someone like Heather coming around will be a welcome distraction.
She will be the highlight of many a patient’s day, and it will lovely to see the smiles on their faces. I know that there is even a special little boy on one of our wards who is thrilled that Heather will be visiting him, and she has a special signed photograph for him too.
Heather has managed to get around 150 Easter eggs donated by local supermarkets, as well as friends and family, all of which will be given out to our patients.
We also want to thank all of the other organisations and people who have come into hospital to donate Easter eggs, whether to a specific ward or department, or to benefit patients across the whole hospital – thank you!”
