Skydiving for charity
We want to say a much deserved WELL DONE done to Wayne Cross and mum Michele for jumping out of a plane for Southampton Hospital Charity!
“Me and my mum are raising funds for the Macmillan Cancer Information Support centre at Southampton General Hospital.”
“Our family has lost a number of relatives over the years to this terrible disease, most recently my grandad, on my mum’s side.”
“He was a strong man and fought the disease for four years, having numerous hospital admissions, tests, operations and radiotherapy. Each time he pulled, through defying the doctors.”
“He stayed in various parts of the general hospital and was a frequent visitor at The Countess Mountbatton Hospice. Towards the end of his battle he was in the comfort of his own home, where carers would come in and help, and of course my amazing mum made at least two visits a day, as well as holding down a full time job and running a home.”
“In a nutshell we want to give a little something back to help other people fight cancer and to thank everyone who cared for my grandad.”
In total, Wayne and Michele raised an amazing £2,250 – thank you.
They came into the hospital to present the cheque to Jo reeves from our Macmillan Centre in early March.
