NHS chief executive abseils for hospital charity
Fiona Dalton has plucked up the courage to abseil 100 metres down the side of the iconic Spinnaker Tower to raise money to support cancer awareness and research.
Money raised from the event will be donated to the PLANETS charitable fund at Southampton Hospital Charity. This raises money specifically for Pancreatic, Liver and Neuroendocrine cancers.
Fiona Dalton, chief executive of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust said: “I always like getting involved in our hospital charity events - to abseil down the Spinnaker Tower will be a real thrill. To know the money is going to such a good cause will keep me going when I am the top of the tower looking down!”
“To everyone already signed up to this event, I wish them luck. If anyone else has ever wanted to do an abseil or is looking for a challenge then 2014, then I hope you will get in touch and join me with this challenge.”
There are still a handful of spaces free to abseil for PLANETS on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June so please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or 023 8079 8881.
However, if there is another area of the hospital that you wish to abseil for as it is close to your heart, then please contact the Southampton Hospital Charity team on 023 8120 8881 or email@example.com for more information.
