Festive chocolates for the elderly in hospital
Granger Smith Consulting donated fifty festive Easter eggs on Tuesday 15 April to the elderly care wards at Southampton General Hospital.
Speaking about the donation, Simon Smith, managing director at Granger Smith Consulting, said: “I believe local companies should support their local community, and giving something back is incredibly important to us as a business.”
“It is unfortunate that many older people will have to spend Easter in hospital and we wanted to provide something special to brighten their day. It’s not just about the chocolate, it’s about my team going around and also talking to the patients at what can be a lonely time.
“We are looking forward to working with the team at Southampton Hospital Charity and providing further support in the future to patients in hospital.”
Victoria Greenshields, fundraising manager for Southampton Hospital Charity, commented: “During this period, many people will think about Easter donations for children, but often the elderly are forgotten. We really appreciate companies like Granger Smith Consulting for giving up their time to not only deliver the Easter eggs, but also spend some time with the elderly patients. We know it will really make their day!”
